In accordance with Article 223 of Legislative Decree 152/2006 and the Consortium statute published by Decree of the Ministry of the Environment on 16 October 2020, the following groups must participate in the Biorepack Consortium [unless they have made arrangements in accordance with Articles 221(3)(a) and (c) and 221-bis]:
- Producers: companies that produce and/or import polymers certified in accordance with the harmonised standards UNI EN 13432:2002 and/or UNI EN 14995:2007, as defined in Article 2(1)(a) of the statute
- Processors: companies that produce, process and import empty biodegradable and compostable plastic packaging and/or related semi-processed products, certified in accordance with the harmonised standards UNI EN 13432:2002 and/or UNI EN 14995:2007, as defined in Article 2(1)(b) of the statute
These entities can register by downloading, completing and sending the relevant application form and company details sheet by certified email (PEC), together with an up-to-date Chamber of Commerce certificate.
The following groups may participate:
- Users: companies that market, distribute, fill and use packaging and import full biodegradable and compostable plastic packaging certified in accordance with the harmonised standards UNI EN 13432:2002 and/or UNI EN 14995:2007, as defined in Article 2(1)(c) of the statute;
- Recyclers: companies that process biodegradable and compostable plastic packaging waste together with organic fraction of minucipal solid waste (OFMSW), as defined in Article 2(1)(d) of the statute.
Companies that are required to apply for membership or wish to do so must download the membership form for their category from the list on this page, complete it in full and send it by certified email (PEC) together with an up-to-date Chamber of Commerce certificate.
